On December 5, Prof. Pickwell-MacPherson Emma from the University of Warwick and associate professor Sun Yiwen from Shenzhen University visited CCT Group for exchanging and guiding. CCT Group Vice President and SITTI Executive Dean Ding Qing and Dr. Yang Minwei, Dr. Zheng Zhu, Dr. Liu Xudong and other gave a warm reception.

The University of Warwick, founded in 1965, is one of the top 100 prestigious universities in the world and one of the top research universities in the United Kingdom. Known for its high standard of academic research and teaching, the University of Warwick ranks the top ten in the UK in mainstream media rankings and top 100 in QS World Universities, and even the top 50.

       Prof. Pickwell-MacPherson Emma coming to Shenzhen this time actually invited by Academician Liu Shenggang to attend the 2nd Terahertz International Conference. She learned that CCT Group is committed to the development of the terahertz industry and resolutely came to visit. At the exchange meeting, SITTI External Affair Officer Lin Xiaoqi made a brief introduction of CCT Group and SITTI. Subsequently, Dr. Yang Minwei led Prof. Pickwell-MacPherson Emma and Prof.Sun and other members to visit the terahertz communications lab, the terahertz spectroscopy and imaging lab, and the millimeter wave security lab. The perfect equipment and practical conditions left a deep impression on them. They expressed their admiration on the technological achievements in terahertz technology research and development we won.

    Both Professor Emma and Associate Professor Sun Yiwen are experts in terahertz biological applications. Professor Emma is a leader in terahertz cancer testing. Her research achievements have drawn extensive attention and coverage from the UK and the world. This year she received the Wolfson Scientific Excellence Award from the Royal Society to support her research on terahertz non-invasive cancer diagnosis in the UK. Associate Professor Sun Yiwen is one of the earliest scholars in the world to study the terahertz dynamic dielectric model with molecular configuration changes of markers and to explore new methods for high-sensitivity drug screening and early diagnosis techniques.

SITTI is also committed to the development of early diagnosis of cancer based on terahertz microfluidic chip diagnostic analyzer can be described as coincident with the two professors’ research, through this communication and exchange, effectively promote the mutual understanding of the tripartite, and is conducive to the future cooperation.
